"You're young, live a little!"
• Name :: Remina Thurston.
• Nickname(s) :: Remi.
• Birthday :: March 9th.
• Age :: Sixteen.
• Gender :: Female.
• Sexuality :: Bisexual; leans towards women.
• Species :: Twin-tailed fox. In her world, animal humans are born with two tails and regular animals are born with one.
• Physical Description :: Remi has sandy tan skin that covers a body with a thin figure. She is very shapely for her age with a defined bust and hips. Her eyes are a clear slate blue. Beneath her left one, there are two moles aligned with the ducts. Remi's hair is thigh length and an unruly, natural perm shaded a dusty brown. Since it takes an arduous effort to keep her curls intact, the fox doesn't brush it. Vulpine ears stick out at the top of her head and two tails stretch out just above her behind.
• Fashion :: Remi's a bit of a tomboy and doesn't favor the frilly tops, dresses, and puffy skirts her friend, Magnolia, wanted to dress her in. Instead, she preferred more comfortable and casual clothing such as sweater tops and denim shorts. While these don't leave a respectable impact on another, Remi cared not, and wore them anyway. On her feet, she wore a tatty pair of boots that would've been better off in a dumpster. But because the pair was still holding itself together, Remi didn't have the heart to get rid of them.
• Family :: Remine Thurston (mother), Hunter Thurston (father).
• Likes :: Keeping busy, playing the piano, hanging with friends, cooking, curry soup, starry nights.
• Dislikes :: Overly sour foods, dreading her future, people who dote on her, disrespect, suspicious people, strawberries.
• Personality :: Remi casts the world a very nonchalant and easygoing attitude. She takes things in stride and doesn't like to hurry things, but this also leaves her victim to being unable to upkeep a schedule properly. She always does what is told of her and finds joy in keeping herself busy. That is why she is quick to accept any task, even if it is hard labor. To her, putting in a day's work and crashing into bed exhausted is the best way to live one's life. It is satisfying because, to her, you know you've gotten something done.
Unlike her friend Magnolia who presents the world a neutrally cold outlook, Remi's is much more friendly and open. She has a pleasant smile that draws people in and makes them prefer her over the cat. However, unlike Magnolia, while she is respectable to others, she is not quick to make friends. Individuals have to prove themselves they are not a threat to her contentment for them to rise a level from acquaintance to friend in her heart. This takes an arduous effort to do because the fox has an intense fear of suspicious people. Her paranoia is likely from the time she was homeless. Since inspectors were known to come by and harrass her on occasion for living in that nook in the alleyway in Norlan, she has earned a fear of people who might impede on her way of living. While she can hold her fear in, sometimes she does seek comfort, and childishly clings to someone to calm her down.
Yet, her suspicions about someone give way to some impressive sleuthing skills. Unless given the a-okay from someone that a person is not bad, Remi will take it upon herself to find out as much about that person as possible. Her inspections are quite thorough, though. Not only does Remi find out personal details such as that person's name, date of birth, or birth location, but she takes it one step further to find out what kind of foods they favor, what kind of relationship they have with their second uncle, and even the type of men or women they're known to gaze longingly at. To the fox, knowing the person inside and out is best way to find out if they're worthy of friendship or best to give the cold shoulder. Unfortunately, this trait of Remi's has done more harm than good. She has found out things that were meant to be kept secret and been caught on numerous occasions.
Remi suffers from a rare cognitively degenerative disease known as Hallensis disease. Though it afflicts other types of animal humans, most cases were found in foxes. Hallensis disease takes years to overcome a contractor's body, so diagnosis of the illness could not be made until an individual is well into their early twenties or even thirties. What the disease does is slowly break down the parts of the brain that recognizes faces, leading to an onset of prosopagnosia. As the disease advances, an individual will soon be unable to recognize even objects. They eventually enter into a lifeless stupor where they will be unable to do anything. They blankly stare into space and don't say a word; their mind broken down so completely they can't even think. Symptoms vary from the onset of facial blindness at an early age to random, short stupors that last minutes. Remi was diagnosed when the latter started afflicting her. Since it was caught so young, she had a chance to prepare for it, but the disease was to hit sometime in her early twenties as estimated by doctors. Due to this, Remi wants to live her life as freely as possible without worrying what is to come. She lives a hedonistic, but also down to earth lifestyle because her days are numbered. Letting go and accepting the inevitable is how Remi has chosen to remain until she is no more. That is why she does not accept condescending opinions about what she does. To her, no one knows understands her repressed anxiety and, until someone does, they have no reason to judge her.
Playing the piano is one of Remi's greatest joys. However, because she is so nonchalant, one doesn't take her for being an avid and even talented player of the instrument. When given the chance to play casually, Remi creates beautiful tunes that are wonderful to listen to. Yet, if she is pressured as she was by her parents, anxiety builds and the fox's fingers are known to trip up time and time again. Remi doesn't play the piano because she has talent, but because playing one puts her at ease. As she puts it, "That's why I know how to play the piano... Every time I did, it was pure bliss. Every note was joy..."
• Background :: After the events of The Magnolia Inn, Remi found a job in a town just before Norlan called Arene. She became a server at a semi-popular restaurant called Vivi's. The titular Vivi was a flirtatious woman who juggled men like bricks. Since she was always busy with her boy-toys and out of town, responsibility of the establishment usually fell on Remi and her two other coworkers: a human male named Eric Erickson and happy-go-lucky weasel girl called Laura "Lala" Stevens. At first, Remi disliked her other employers and fell into a depressive episode; constantly lamenting the "girl she left behind." She became friends with Eric first after a few weeks of working at the location. The man had earned a small crush on her and the fox gently rejected him by saying she already had feelings for another and that, "He would get over it."
Though shocked at this claim, Remi went on to say that Eric was quick to fall in love with a pretty face and, while she was flattered he thought she was pretty, also added he had a thing for Lala once (she had told the fox) and that he was crushing on another face up the hill from the restaurant. Realizing the truth, Eric grew embarrassingly stubborn, but the two went on to form an easygoing relationship. Lala took a bit more time to get used to because the weasel was as spry as the wind and as jumpy as an excitable puppy. However, like Eric, Remi got to know the girl and they became pleasant friends.
• Trivia :: When the weather begins to get colder, Remi's hair naturally goes from brown to a silvery white. When people comment on this, she says it is a common process amongst the breed of foxes she is.
